What is sustainable IT?

The Swedish Internet Foundation define sustainable IT as consisting of two parts:

1. To use IT-products but trying to mitigate the products negative impact on the environment and society when it comes to producing, using and end-of-life handling.
2. To use IT-products but with the purpose of limiting the negative impact on the environment and society that happens within other areas than above mentioned.
